What we clean
From restoration parts to structural steel.
Laser rust removal reaches into pitting, seams and detail that are difficult to clean by hand, and leaves a dry surface ready for priming, coating or inspection.
- Classic car panels, chassis and components
- Tractors, implements and farm machinery
- Gates, railings and architectural ironwork
- Structural steel, beams and fabrications
- Tools, castings and engine parts
- Marine fittings and steelwork

Suitable materials
Ferrous metals and their finishes.
Flash rust to heavy pitted corrosion and mill scale removed ready for coating.
Rust removed from castings and ornamental ironwork while keeping fine detail.
Body panels and pressed parts cleaned at low energy to limit heat and avoid distortion.
Deep pitting will still be visible after cleaning, because laser cleaning removes the corrosion rather than filling or reshaping the metal. Where rust has eaten through a section, repair will still be needed.
Our approach
A tested process, matched to the metal.
Assess
We review photographs or the item itself to judge the type and depth of corrosion and any coatings on top.
Test area
A small area is cleaned first to set the right parameters and show you the finish.
Clean
Rust is removed in controlled passes, with extraction capturing debris at the head.
Protect
The cleaned steel is handed back dry and ready for primer, ideally the same day.
Precautions
What to know before rust removal.
Bare steel will start to rust again in damp air. Plan for primer or protection soon after cleaning.
Panels are cleaned in short passes at reduced energy to keep heat input low.
Paint over rust may contain lead. It is removed under extraction and the waste is handled accordingly.
Removing rust can reveal thin sections, holes or old repairs. We will flag anything we find.
Heavy, deep corrosion takes longer to remove than light surface rust. The test area gives a realistic rate.
Work takes place in a controlled area, on site or in our workshop.
Service coverage
Mobile across Devon and Cornwall, or at our workshop.
Large items such as machinery, vehicles and structures are cleaned on site anywhere in Devon and Cornwall. Smaller parts can be dropped off at our workshop in Malborough, near Kingsbridge.
Areas covered →Common questions
With correct settings, material loss is typically measured in microns, far less than grit blasting or grinding.
Yes. The beam reaches into pits and seams, though the pitting itself remains visible afterwards.
Ideally the same day, or as soon as possible, before moisture causes flash rust.
How to enquire
Tell us about the rust.
Send photographs of the item, its approximate size and where it is. We will recommend the best approach and send a clear quote.
